Methods to identify individuals at risk for heart disease, heart failure or cardiac events have been developed in order to reduce hospitalization and the number of deaths. Throughout the years, tremendous progress has been made with non-invasive techniques, many of which are now able to detect and grade the severity of disease involving heart muscle or valves and the risk for heart attacks so that appropriate treatment may be given.
